    Arun Raman is an Associate Professor of Computer Science for Digital Transformation at Atria University. His current research interests lie mainly in the area of Engineering Education where his vision is in creating mechanisms (technology, pedagogy, curriculum, assessment etc.) through which quality education can be made available to everyone irrespective of their cultural, economic and academic background. Prior to this, he spent a few months at Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru in the AI/ML cluster of their CS department. He was a C.V. Raman postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Computer Science and Automation in the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He obtained his Ph.D. in Systems and Entrepreneurial Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (UIUC) in August 2020 where his dissertation was in the area of Supervisory Control of Discrete Event Systems. He received his Masters in Systems and Control Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2012, following which he worked in (what was then) General Electric (GE) Oil & Gas in the Gas Turbine and Compressor Controls Team for a couple of years. He also had a short stint of around an year in IIM Ahmedabad as a research associate. He is an avid cricket fan and likes long distance running— his full and half marathon personal bests are 3hr 59min and 1hr 41min respectively.
