    Sadanand launched his career in 1992 as a member of the faculty of Physics and Electronics Engineering at Norfolk State University, Virginia, USA. In 1997, he left academia for industry when he joined a start-up, Siliconians, in Santa Clara, California, USA, in Silicon Valley, designing mobile-phone chips based on Intel’s 8051. Later, in 1998, he joined Synopsys (one of 3 Electronic Design Automation (EDA) companies) in Mountain View, California, USA. In Synopsys, as a member of the verification group, he took on roles ranging from those in corporate applications engineering and technical marketing to new-technology validation and management. He finally returned to the field of education in 2011 as the South Asia Regional Manager of the Education Group at Arm Ltd, Cambridge, in its Bangalore India office. At Arm, he oversaw the growth of the Arm University Program, a worldwide program providing university academics worldwide with course-ware written around Arm processors for use as teaching aids in Electrical and Computer Engineering/Science curricula. In 2020, he joined Sahyadri School (Krishnamurti Foundation India) nestled in the Sahyadri hills (western ghats) where he founded the Centre for STEAM Design. He is now a Professor at Atria University involved in teaching students in the Digital Transformation stream.
