Our Projects

Cutting-edge research initiatives driving sustainable energy and eMobility innovation

Modelling of Soiling & Shading Effects on Solar PV

Developing computational models to quantify the impact of dust soiling and partial shading on solar photovoltaic panel performance, enabling predictive maintenance and optimised cleaning schedules for large-scale solar installations.

Optimised Energy Storage for Microgrids

Designing AI-driven battery management systems for campus and community microgrids, optimising charge-discharge cycles to maximise storage efficiency and extend battery life in renewable energy systems.

Wind Turbine Design for Low Wind Speed Regions

Engineering novel blade geometries and generator configurations for small-scale wind turbines suited to India's low wind speed inland regions, expanding the geographic reach of wind energy generation.

Thermal Hotspot Detection in Solar Arrays

Using drone-mounted infrared imaging and machine learning algorithms to automatically detect and localise thermal hotspots in utility-scale solar PV arrays, reducing inspection costs and improving system reliability.

High Power EV Charging Infrastructure

Developing high-efficiency DC fast charging systems with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capability, enabling EV batteries to serve as distributed energy storage assets that support grid stability during peak demand periods.

Magnet-Free Motor Technology for eMobility

Researching switched reluctance and synchronous reluctance motor topologies as alternatives to rare-earth permanent magnet motors, reducing supply chain dependency while maintaining competitive power density and efficiency for EV drivetrains.

Waste Heat Recovery from Industrial Processes

Engineering thermoelectric and organic Rankine cycle systems to capture and convert low-grade waste heat from industrial processes into usable electricity, improving overall energy efficiency in manufacturing.

Unified Energy Interface for Smart Campus

Building an integrated digital platform that monitors, manages, and optimises all energy flows across the Atria campus — solar generation, battery storage, EV charging, and building demand — in real time.
