Atria University is looking to hire an Operations Manager to oversee and carry out tasks related to hostel and student life for our students. This is a full-time role and the incumbent is required to reside at the hostels. The Atria University hostel is currently run by Olive Living by Embassy Group, and the Operations Manager will be the first point of contact between AU and Olive Living .
Candidates who:
- have experience with student-facing roles,
- are proficient in handling business negotiations & vendors;
- have on-the-spot conflict resolution skills, and
- can handle tasks from across verticals.

Key requirements
- Will be required to stay at the hostel property and act as liaison between Atria University & Hostel team
- Will be required to be present at student focused Atria University events that takes place on hostel premises and outside
- Be available for communication with Atria University staff and parents/guardians at all times.
Responsibilities
- Enable residence life – safe, holistic, & comfortable
- Be approachable and de-escalate issues of conflict on an immediate basis
- Ensure that students are abiding by university and hostel codes of conduct
- Arrange for first-aid in case of any emergency and arrange for hospitalization of student/staff, if required
- Make sure students leave and return to & from campus to Olive at stipulated times unless notified by the University
- Responsible for collecting grievances of students with regards to maintenance of the accommodation & quality of food
- Report any cases of indiscipline or misbehaviour by the students to the Director of Student Life
- Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization
- Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable departments with respect to student campus life & hostel life
- Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and on-point delivery of services to students
- Help oversee materials and inventory management
Preferred experience and credentials (not mandatory):
Must Have:
- People skills and good communication skills
- Experience with interfacing with youth in a professional setting
- Has been a hostel warden in the past
- Bachelor’s degree holder
- 2+ years’ proven experience in an operations management position
- Moderate budget development and oversight skills
- Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service
- Trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
- Able to manage vendors
- Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
