    Atria University seeks to set up a Center of Excellence for Battery Engineering, to enable a more sustainable, equitable, ethical and connected world. We are looking for Technocrat who will be able to conceive, setup and manage this CoE for Battery Engineering.

    What is expected from the Director of Atria University Center of Excellence?

    1. Possess technical, techno-commercial and Economic competence that is always up to date in the specialised area for the CoE.
    2. Envision, build the team and develop the CoE.
    3. Create and Deliver content to the various Programs under the different Verticals for which students have enrolled and the Program Directors have requested. In other words, create subject materials, teach to students and conduct evaluations in line with the needs of the Program Directors.
    4. Establish and run different laboratories as may be required to effectively deliver the teaching and consulting responsibilities of the CoE.
    5. Generate and maintain an active and effective network with Industry Professionals in the area of expertise for the CoE.
    6. After the initial 18 months of starting the CoE, solicit and bring in consulting work and projects from Industry and/or Government that will help the CoE to stay engaged and also ensure sufficient revenue to take care of running expenses.
    7. Hire, train, retain and manage a team consisting of Research Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Faculty, Staff and Technicians to ensure successful day-to-day operations.

    AU will provide the CoE with support in the form of infrastructure and/or staffing for the setup as conceived by the Director. The CoE is expected to become a self-sustaining entity within 18 months from the formal start of operations. Revenue generation streams for centers can include but not be limited to-

    • Consulting and Projects for industry.
    • Product development/research for industry.
    • Research funded by grants from Government.
    • Academic curriculum design, development and delivery to the different Program Directors in Atria University at AU-approved hourly rates.
    • Launch Certification and other courses with or without external partners including EdTech firms and generate revenue. Such courses can be in collaboration with other CoEs in AU or other Colleges or Universities with prior internal approvals.
    • Mobilise CSR funding from companies with due qualification as per Indian law.

    The Director candidate must have:

    • Exposure to the Technology in Battery and Cell Engineering.
    • Leadership skills.
    • Communication skills.
    • Commercial skills to manage contractual arrangements.
    • Ability to create and manage a suitable team of Faculty and Staff.
    • Understanding of the technology trends across the globe.

    Nice to have:

    • Higher Education from a Tier 1 institute in an area related to Battery Technology.
    • Industry Network.
    • Basic awareness at least of the manufacturing side of Cells and Batteries.
    • Basic awareness of related charging and BMS domains.
