Atria University is hiring for full-time faculty to teach courses in information systems for the first-year program, with a particular ability to draw connections between first-year fundamental courses and the 5 interdisciplinary majors. We seek applicants with a strong grounding in technology, an appreciation for real-world applications in engineering and applied sciences, and hands-on learning.

We are seeking faculty to teach courses in basic programming for the foundational year program. These courses will involve teaching the following topics in an activity-driven or project based manner –
Basic topics
Algorithmic thinking, understanding data on spreadsheets, linear regression, ways of interactively visualizing concepts/systems from other courses (such as classical mechanics, calculus, probability).
Advanced topics
The idea of data structures, efficiency in data structures and algorithms, an introduction to Python as a programming language.
Further courses in year 2 onwards can go into more details about data structures and algorithms, and courses related to the interdisciplinary majors at AU. Faculty also have the opportunity to devise interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary course offerings combining learning goals from other fields.
